If I reacted too harshly to your comment, I’m sorry for that. I must admit that I was a bit offended when I first read it, but I’m over that now.

Just pointing out that some people don’t like Microsoft, for example, because they are a big bad corporation.

That’s not where I was coming from at all. I simply want everyone to always remember why businesses make submissions to Open Source, and the risks involved in depending on their support.

On the other hand, I see 80-plus percent of Linux kernel contributions are from corporations.

If you take out the Redhat systemd contribution, how much of that 80% remains?
It is the quality of the contribution that matters.

I agree corporations are part of the community, as long as they embrace FOSS properly.
