Have you tried Midori web browser?

Is there a way to autohide the side-panel?

Installed 11.4 on KDE Neon yesterday.
It would not load.
Even after two reboots, all that happened was a momentary show of the icon as if it were about to show up.
Right-click on icon in startup menu to un-install did not work.
Un-installed it with Stacer.

Seems to be doing good on Windows 11 tho.

@danielson
I tried install of 11.4 from deb file but got error that it needs
midori: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_ABI_DT_RELR
but so far have not been able to locate this.
There is a suggestion that it might be installed with ubuntu 22.04 but I am using Xubuntu 22.04 and it is not there!
Cannot help with hiding side-panel which I like.

This is the new Midori, produced by Astian

It is a firefox derivative, so it must be open-source
It uses cloud storage? It says you get 15Gb of free storage… not sure what for.
The website offers downloads for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Comment says it appears very simiar to Floorp

  • Floorp

Astian’s blog posts Midori at 11.14 while download is 11.13

It’s been like that for some time now.

“Glitches” like that are not good publicity.

If they cant get that right, one wonders about the quality of their software… or is it that the webpage is done by the sales department.

Another blunder…

In a move that revolutionizes the free software and open source landscape, Astian, the company behind the innovative Midori browser, has announced a strategic alliance with tech giant Microsoft. This collaboration not only reinforces Astian’s commitment to developing open source solutions, but also opens new doors for innovation and growth within Microsoft’s technology ecosystem.

Agreement

Within the framework of this alliance, Microsoft has invested $400,000 in Astian, resources that will be used exclusively to strengthen the marketing, advertising and sales processes of the solutions developed by the company. However, collaboration goes beyond financial investment. Microsoft technical staff will be actively involved in the development of Astian applications and services, bringing their experience and expertise to drive innovation and solution quality.

–Astian, Inc - Astian + Microsoft = Love of Open Source

I am afraid that one is fatal.
