I used Netscape in a 486 with 128Mb of ram. No DE just twm. I started netscape by typing the name. It ran fine, limited only by my dialin modem speed. It was FreeBSD, not Linux.
I´m delighted to learn it all worked out well for you.
Seems like a huge success indeed.
Great.
Have a nice day and many greetings from Rosika
P.S.:
Jerry Bezencon (LL´s developer/maintainer) also provides a dedicated LL tweak facility. It comes preinstalled as per default.
Might be interesting for some users.
Everything appears fine for such a limited computer.
I am sure my client will be pleased, she is over 90 years old and still writing articles for scientific publications, but like most of us is slowing down so typing is not a fast process or issue for her.
No doubt she will ask me how do i etc⌠but most things i will just answer
thank you very much for some background information.
I should like to pay tribute to the elderly lady, who is still busy writing scientificic articles.
I guess she used to be a scientist when she was still active in her job.
That´s really great.
I have no idea what she writes or publish. I did find copies on the computer when doing the system change but as they were in a south African language I did not try to read.
Her questions for me last week were on footnotes end notes and indexing which were easy to show her how.
And she is a doctor of some science who taught at universityâŚ
Each time I go I get a little bit more of the story. Really nice lady and totally with it for her age.
