The only what may be a clue, is the bigger the SD card the slower it is, I have got into a horribly mess and lost stuff because I turned it all off after it sat for hours, but with a smaller SD it works fine, any thing bigger than 64 GB and wont work, I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.2 have been for a while, I have had this problem with 18 and 19 and now 19.2. I do not have any idea why and have done a lot of looking and can find no reason. Okay read the other comments, If I plug the phone with USB cord straight to the laptop DELL any thing over 64 just slow as to stop, I have been taking the SD out of phone and put in SD tray on front of laptop not a problem,. have not tried with any thing bigger that 64 GB after problems , I was downloading a ton of pics from phone to laptop using USB cord once,… it just all hung up, for hours, turned all off, lost the lot. All single pictures not in files? but only about 64GB, and yet have never had problem down loading Dash Cam videos of 64GB from SD card put into SD slot/tray on laptop, wouldn’t even try with usb cord between Dash cam and USB port.
