Log-in issue with Cozy Drive

I think that line is the clue.
Browsers can pretend to be something other than their true identity
I think the reply is suggesting that you make your browser pretend to be Firefox running in Windows.
I dont know how to do that, but I am sure someone here knows.
Just hang on … someone may know how to do it

This may help

Thank you Neville and Paul. Since posting this morning I have had the following message, but it’s still Greek to me.

Use another browser that dont send fake informations to the server.

It is a complete mystery to me. In the first place, what has the browser
got to do with it? Second, I don’t use Firefox; it is on my computer but not
set up, as I use Librewolf. So how can there be so much misinformation? I
can’t use Cozy until this is sorted.

This is a privacy feature of Librewolf. Very few people use this
browser. So presenting itself as Librewolf would allow user tracking on
server side. To prevent this, Librewolf pretend to be Firefox on
MICROSOFT/Windows. The server has to way to detect your real browser and
OS name if your browser send fake informations.

Kind regards !
I can make my own translations, but the site for some reason requires English.

I think I got it back to front.
Your browser IS pretending to be Firefox in Windows.

Why does that matter?
For most browser use it is a good for LibreWolf to say it is Firefox, because LibreWolf basically IS Firefox with some modifications, so that will ensure the web server at the site you visit talks to LibreWolf in the optimum way.
but
When you access Cosy in the browser, it takes its clues about how to behave from the browser supplied information

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0

I think it is the Windows NT bit that is causing the trouble.
Try getting LibreWolf to tell Cosy it is Linux.
That may make Cosy behave properly for Linux.

I have used LibreWolf. It is like WaterFox. They are both improvements on FireFox, but basically still in the FireFox family.

I remember some time ago having to install an add-in called User Agent in Firefox that would allow me to choose how I wanted the browser to send that user ID string. For instance, I could choose Google Chrome in Windows, MS Edge, etc.

Not sure if it is still available, but that was how I was able to download my own MS apps that I paid for while using Linux. Otherwise, it kept telling me it would not work and would not allow the download.

That sounds like what is needed here. Thanks Sheila

Thank you very much Sheila and Neville for the additional information. I believe in the process that I have been reassured. I had worried that connection information showing my use of Windows and Firefox was an indication of some kind of hacking. In fact, from what I have learned here, it may be a protection from hacking, so it seems I needn’t worry.
Regards.
