Lost in Gentoo installation, need help

I always read the wiki page of the package I’m going to install because of the use flags. You could use emerge --pretend to see what it would install and which are the default flags. If you want to change the flags just add a file to /etc/portage/package.use/ with the full package name and use flags. If you would need a ~amd64 package (marked as unstable) you should add the ~amd64 keyword to /etc/portage/package_accept_keywords/

My last Gentoo build, was built using the “~amd64” flag, and no binaries, but I am using an i7 with 4 cores and 32GB Ram, did not even blink an eye!!!

I’ll close this thread here, as the installation of Gentoo is done. For the remaining configuration tasks, I’ll open dedicated topics. Unfortunately, I’ll go off for a few days; therefore, it will take some time.
