Today’s mailing says " We reached the 30,000 followers mark on Mastodon", but I can’t login to mastodon.social because my account is on another server (piaille.fr). I’m aware I’m getting old for this, though I’ve done and set up plenty of Linux installations.
Please could someone explain how this decentralised Mastodon thing is supposed to work?

Looking forward to the replies on this as its an area I could use for another project I have in mind. Never tried the site

You don’t need to do so, that’s not the way the Fediverse works.
Simply do a search for @itsfoss@mastodon.social, this account should be found. Go to their profile, then click on Follow. Done.
