Maybe a UK joke, because I did not get the meaning.
Like a torch (UK) is a flashlight (US).
Bonnet of a car (UK) is the hood of a car (US).
Lift - elevator, tube - subway. And I could go on & on.
I think it means we are equally blind?
Australia is a mix of UKisms and USisms
It is a browser situation for sure. It doesn’t happen in Firefox or Edge Dev or Edge Beta but does happen in Edge (stable v131).
The really odd thing to me is I have hit ctrl-refresh which should load everything and ignore caching. That works for me. I do see the new page. Then if I just hit refresh it reverts to the old page.
I even cleared my cache. Same behavior. Odd.
I get a few loops of having to login and MFA (via email) afresh when I fire up a connection from a new browser install (mostly Brave). Brave saves (syncs) my password for me - but not the cookie…
Doesn’t bother me greatly…
Let’s see :
Brave on Pop!_OS thinkpad and desktops (x2)
Brave on Ubuntu 24.04 on Dell laptop and RPi5 (x2)
Brave on MacOS 15x on two MacBook Pro… (x2)
I do use Firefox and Google Chrome too - but not for ItsFoss…
And I don’t browse this forum on my phone (Android) or tablets (iPad)
Sorry howard, joke in poor taste as Neville pointed out, people with poor eye sight usually carry white sticks to aid their path, also to advise others of the difficulties with vision.
I forget humour is different even across same language speakers. Also a joke is not funny if you have to explain it.
Thanks for the clarification.

Hi all,
thanks for the new information.
Interesting to see what @pdecker has come up with.
No, can´t say I have.
Some curious things can happen indeed, as it seems.
Haha, that´s funny.
… or as @kovacslt might possibly say: “vak vezet világtalant”.
That´s what my mum used to say on occasions .
I was immediately reminded of that when I read @callpaul.eu ´s joke.
Many greetings from Rosika
Not just say, I also do it almost every day
Not just on this forum, but also on a local one.
Now I need to read the topic, as I got involved
Hi László,
thanks for your kind feedback.
Sorry, I didn´t want to cause any trouble.
The gist of it is:
@callpaul.eu said as a jokeful comment:
… and @nevj commented:
Then @easyt50 added:
… which reminded me of the Hungarian saying.
Many greetings from Rosika
No troubles…
Seems it’s quite international.
What it really tells is to describe a situation, where a completely clueless person tries to teach another clueless person.
By the way, I did not notice anything weird with Chromium on Debian 12.
Thanks László,
Yes, I think you summed it up quite nicely.
Great. That´s good to know.
Many greetings from Rosika
Between clicking to enter email and checking back to the forum: 9 clicks.
10 if dark mode is selected.
Just thought it would be good to keep this thread alive.
Using Firefox and still search stuff with ItsFoss mentioned (when i remember).
