It does not really matter to me, but I did read with interest that Mint 23 is not scheduled for release until December. If my memory is correct, usually the next release would have been scheduled for June or July after the next Ubuntu LTS.
Mint development team is slowing down the release cycle as have been reported. Mint 22.3 was release this past January, so it will be a full year before getting an updated version of Linux Mint.
That is more frequent than Debian. Debian is supposed to be 18 months but it is usually about 2 years.
Rolling releases like Void are every day… or never … depending on how you look at it.
I think this is a good move. If you look at the LMDE version that is debian based and also much longer. Some developers are just throwing releases out with features that we don’t ask for or need. Their blog does talk about new hardware updates being available if needed.
