I keep reading these things and get quite excited, french government says open source etc, but when you go into hospitals, tax office, prefecture even the gendarmerie you still find windows. Horror for me i went in for radiotherapy and the technician had xp on one machine.

That’s sad, but probably true, because the organizations still using Windows are probably doing so to avoid the cost and inconvenience/service interruption of switching. After all, in the business world, money trumps all, right?
On the positive side, the Swiss Government has enacted legislation to enforce making the change. That’s very encouraging, isn’t it?
