At the small engine shop, where I spent some of my spare time we always kept spares and just replaced the coil. I believe the coil just takes the voltage input from the magnets in the flywheel, amplifies the voltage and sends it to the spark plug, just guessing!!!
Just hold the wire and give the engine a whirl, it doesn’t hurt, too badly!!!
Browse Youtube for propane mower conversions. Burns cleaner, pretty trouble free.
Yes, but it is intermittant. I think I need to put a voltage on it, the brak it and it should spark.
I will do some research.
I have seen it on fork lifts, but not mowers?
Here’s one way. YouTube.com is full of these conversions, many of which look like entries for Darwin Awards. This one looks a little safer.
Thanks @pdecker I had forgotten that line, been awhile since I have watched War Games!!!
OH MY!!! I do not believe my two JD lawn tractors qualify for this upgrade!!!
@Daniel_Phillips ,
It does have spark…
It helps if I take throttle off the stop position!
That leaves very few options
- has spark
- has compression
- carby has been removed and given full clean
Maybe defective needle and seat?
If it has spark and compression, then all it needs is gas!!! You do need to make sure that flywheel key has not been damaged, you can be very careful and pour a small amount of gas into the spark plug hole and see if it will fire.
When you have time, could you explain to me on how to configure the wpa_supplicant for wifi access. A PM would be fine.
That will get you going
