I find a dual boot a lot more convenient than a VM. Why do you favour VM?, it seems to make communication with hardware more difficult. OK if you just want internet, but what about using printer or getting images from a camera?
I do keep one Windows around just in case, but I have never actually used it.

I am fine with a dual boot with Linux on a separate drive, but I will never install Linux on
my Windows boot drive. Right now I use Windows more than I use Linux, and a Linux VM
just fits in better. I have nothing against Linux, this is just how I run my machine.

With my shared folder I can easily move files from Windows to my Linux VM. I have no
need in letting the VM run the printer, that is the job for Windows.

That sounds fine. I had one on each disk once, but I booted both with grub.
I was just worried that you were confusing VM problems with Linux problems
