No need to crunch the numbers - you can see why Trisquel 
is far more efficient than Mint no matter what laptop spec you may have
Both running on the same 13 year old HP G60 Laptop

- Look at Mint CPU history graph maxing out at 100% - never seen such inefficiency - have you..?
