I am retired from the workforce and now involved in U3A where I give talks on ancient history so I use my computer a lot for research. I am also an avid reader. Up to 2014 I always used Windows and liked Windows 7 but was not keen on installing Windows 10 and I did not like Windows 8. A friend suggested i use Ubuntu so I installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS alongside W7 and less than two days later I reinstalled Ubuntu and completely erased Windows. I did a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04 a few months after its release and like the 14.04 it was a very robust and reliable machine. I do not like 18.04 and after trying several other systems I settled with Linux Mint 19 Mate. I also like Ubuntu Budgie but it had a few bugs and other things that hopefully will be fixed in the next LTS release. Maybe changing to QT will be the game breaker for Budgie and I will try it again.
