Please don’t waste your time reading about me. I have been using Ubuntu since Natty Narwal. I have been using microcomputers since 1980 with Sinclair ZX 81, BBC Micro, RM Machines, Apple II, Acorn Archimedes, Apple (Motorola processors) and plain vanilla PCs using all versions of Windows. I use Win 10 for Quickbooks and Garmin hardware, GPS files and maps. I use Bionic Beaver daily for the usual boring stuff, email and social media. I like Firefox and VPN router for security and use two Synology NAS servers to store all of my files and stream media to my smart TV. I am a keen advocate of GNU/Linux and FOSS and visit various forums where I give newbies the questionable benefit of my limited advice and experience. Being retired I have time for the Scouts Association, prog rock, gardening, cooking, DIY maintenance, travel within and outwith UK, cycling, mountaineering and I try to read 100 books per year, mainly sci-fi, science, geology, archaeology, history, politics, philosophy and classic fiction.
