How to synchronize the Feeder app on Android with an RSS Feed Reader on Linux?

Hi,
I use the Feeder app daily on Android and I really like it, but I’d like to find a way to synchronize it with some feed reader program for Linux.

I’ve been searching the net and haven’t found any solution.
I’ve also thought about synchronizing the feeds with Syncthing, if they’re in a folder accessible on Android, but I can’t find the Feeder folder (it must be inaccessible with the new Android protections).

My questions:

  • Do you use the Feeder app and know how to synchronize with it?
  • Do you use another open source app for Android that can synchronize with any RSS feeder reader on Linux?

Thanks for your help
Jorge

Hi Jorge,

sorry, I don´t think I can help you with that one.

I don´t use any feedreader on android but rather on my Linux Lite PC.
I like newsboat a lot.

On Linux Lite I run it this way:

env LANG=en_US.UTF-8 firejail newsboat -C /media/rosika/f14a27c2-0b49-4607-94ea-2e56bbf76fe1/DATEN-PARTITION/Dokumente/Ergänzungen_zu_Programmen/zu_newsbeuter/alternative_config -u /media/rosika/f14a27c2-0b49-4607-94ea-2e56bbf76fe1/DATEN-PARTITION/Dokumente/Ergänzungen_zu_Programmen/zu_newsbeuter/urls2

Looks like this when started:

It seems to have some sort of sync facilties but “feeder” is not expicitely mentioned in the docs (link above).

Sorry I cannot be of better help, Jorge. :bowing_man:

Many greetings from Rosika :slightly_smiling_face:

If you really just want sync with feeder.
You can try running feeder in waydroid.

But, I guess you should consider using FreshRSS
It have good and updated clients
On android : read you
On linux : newsboat, there are also guis if you want
On web : of instance you are using.

I am currently using it (Web everywhere)

Some good instances : psf.lt (using this myself), eris.cc, vern.cc, envs.net, etc.
