Alternative to neofetch (silly toys that eat productivity) : fastfetch

Trending right now or as the shonky social media marketers oft exclaim "everybody’s talking about… "

Anyway - fastfetch - is literally - faster than neofetch. Not as widely available though - you can get the source - but there’s no 32 bit binaries for Linux x86 or arm (see this quite a bit - developers compiling binaries for BOTH 64 bit and 32 bit Windows - but not Linux).

Note also - for those more privacy focused - it displays your IP address (internal LAN) - I tend to redact that info - probably makes zero difference - but I don’t want anyone knowing my IP address ranges in my local LAN (and I do the same for customers) - so beware before you go publically plastering screenshots of fastfetch output.

(it’s inheriting that display info 'cause I’m connected via SSH from my Pop!_OS desktop)

And my TrueNAS (yes - it’s a tad verbose when there’s lotsa ZFS datasets) :

Trending even more so now - the neofetch developer has abandoned it.

And now - the github now has links to even more binaries - including 32 bit ARM (armhf / arm7l).

Here they suggest adding a PPA - I’d strongly counsel against such rash behaviour and go for a DEB binary download instead :

(but they do list other alternatives to neofetch besides fastfetch)

I vote with you on that
