Can’t type N key in chroot

Hi everyone,
on my LFS project, after hard work, I’ve finally reached chapter 10. Well, at the end of chapter 9, I needed to reboot duento the classic desktop stuck, no switch to tty problem. So I mounted everything again, chrooted into the environment and switched to sources directory. And that’s when I realised I can’t type N key anymore. This only occurs in the chroot prompt. Also pasting commands removes the N.
I’ve tried:

  • reboot and remount
  • loadkeys (but doesn’t have keymaps)
  • using another terminal emulator
  • using another host system
  • exit and reenter
None works. I would appreciate any help.

Hey that is weird.
Are you sure that it is not a hardware problem?
I cant see how a chroot could affect one key on the keyboard

See what echo $TERM reports.

It will in LFS if the wrong keymap is used!!!

How did you configure your console keymap? Are they correct in relation to your keyboard?

I, for example, configured my keyboard to Dutch the first time I used Linux. Boy, the issues showed (I don’t have a Dutch keyboard layout, I have US international with dead keys and euro on alt-5).

xterm-256color

Well I left it as is, pre reboot everything worked?

I will just start everything anew.

Did you save after chapter 7?

…No… I’m not the backup guy.
