Yes, I have KDE with Chimera.
I dont like Gnome either… screens full of icons do not appeal , I like drop down menus and a clean screen.
If Chimera had Xfce I woukd have chosen that, but KDE works for me.
I think Chimera’s repository depends heavily on Alpine, so it may be not as comprehensive as Debian. How do you find the apk package system?
I like everything about chimera but there are still few packages but I like the manager.
we need something like aptitude
It seems less complex than gentoo, so far so good
I am not sure. My VM installation reported at the beginning of this topic was in virt-manager. Virtualbox uses the same tools as virt-manager (ie KVM/qemu) so it should be possible.
I had a bit of trouble with USB mouse and USB keyboard hardware, but that was only while installing. My Chimera runs in virt-managerwithout issues.
Where exactly does chimera get to when you boot it in Vbox? Do you get a command line login prompt? Do you succeed in logging in? Is there any message on your screen?
I assume you do know that in Vbox, after completing an install, you have to switch it from ‘boot from CD’ to ‘boot from virtual disk’
