My advice is the following:
Don’t buy any machine for your wife without her confirmation.
Otherwise it’s guaranteed to be the most wrong choice ever possible…

As carefully linstening to how it sounds when I knock on it, I can 97% accurately predict wether it’s going to taste good or not.
Think I’d want a bit more control over bread and watermelons.

How do you guys cope with birthdays and anniversaries?
For me smartphone solved that problem. There are the calendar events with notification.
Since I use Radicale on my sever, and have my phones calendar synced, as well as Evolution on my PC (was EM Client before my Linux days), I did not forget such an event.
Before the “tech” era, well… you can guess
Easy I book a nice hotel in a nice place then just tell her to pack a bag. As long ast the food is good and weather warm I win. Christmas is the hard one ended up buying her tickets for the flight to see her family.
