Debian 13: MDS CPU bug present and SMT on, data leak possible

Hello Friends

In Debian 13 Desktop in a Lenovo Z50-70, after the GRUB is loaded is shown a long output of a situation starting with:

MDS CPU bug present and SMT on, data leak possible. See https://www.kernel.org/doc/html......
...
more
....

Because the output is long I did a research about how to see the same output.
Well after to execute the journalctl -b command as root was possible to re-create the same block report as follows:

MDS CPU bug present and SMT on, data leak possible. See https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/admin-guide/hw-vuln/mds.html for more details.
VMSCAPE: SMT on, STIBP is required for full protection. See https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/admin-guide/hw-vuln/vmscape.html for more details.

I read both links but because I am not expert … I need know your point of view

  • How serious is this situation?

It seems if is used some virtualization tool such as VirtualBox is possible that the guest can “harm” the host …

  1. Did I understand correctly?
  2. Am I missing something?

If I am correct for (1)

a. How common is this?
b. How is possible that situation?

Pls could you share your thoughts? A guidance is well welcome

Thanks in advance
