Alas it was all to no avail. Still get the two messages but the upside is I know its going to happen and its just two press enters…
Just going to google Linux installation logs to see where they are stored. I have started reading an introduction to Linux !

After reading various posts on several Linux forums I determined that I could boot using Legacy mode on my Acer. After the boot sequence I was able to change the Bios to the new EFI and the error is no longer present.
Neither is Zorin as I have moved on to Cinnamon Remix which I am loving and I am now trying a few flavours of 32 bit for an OLD laptop that was struggling with Windows XP. Thank you to all contributors
