YouTube recommended me this hour plus video called Every Free App You Need Explained. It’s a really long video. I let it run in the background while I clowned around on Reddit with my iPad. Most of us probably know about a majority of these apps but it never hurts to watch. You might learn something.
It also renewed my interest in Local Send and Sync Thing. Apps which I know of but never got around to using. Proton VPN and Proton Pass is at the forefront of my mind now too as I like to support privacy conscious companies when I can.
Not all mentioned apps are FOSS or available on Linux but the vast majority are. Did anyone see any apps they haven’t heard of?
There are heaps of apps there I have never used. … and I use some things that are not there..
I find that there is never time to properly explore many of the aspects of Linux. One has to specialize.
Parsec is out for me. At least on Linux. . My laptop is a Ryzen 7 chipset. I figured it would just work but no dice. I had to boot into Windows where it just worked.
This threw off my whole workflow because my Windows install is bare bones with Office Professional 2021 for the rare occasion I need to work with a fancy Office file that Libre cannot handle and the few Windows only programs I need for ridiculous stuff like pairing a mouse with Logitech’s unifying receiver.
