Found A New Distro Called "Milis"

Thanks to @nevj for sharing the link to Milis!!

Everyone on this Forum, probably or should, know that I love to work with Gentoo and LinuxFromScratch and LFS takes up a huge portion of that time.

This is by and far the best Linux Distro I have found, based on LinuxFromScratch, and it just proves what one can do with LFS!!! Yes, after analyzing Milis, I can adapt, and use some of the packages for my LFS build.

No, I cannot mirror the custom kernel or the MPS package manager or the Turkish language, but I have found the meaning of a few Turkish words, to help navigate!!

It does not come with a DE but it is using LabWC and a Wayland compositor based on wlroots and Firefox!!! Does anyone know Turkish on this Forum!!!

Well @4dandl4 I admire your enthusiasm , taking that on in Turkish.

Is LabWC a Window Manager?
Can we see a screenshot of that ? … I assume it gives you a terminal window to work in?

Google translate does Turkish. That might help.

Not really!! The Milis ISO comes out of Turkey, and was built and defaults to the Turkish language, with support for English!!! While you can make the English language to work, all the commands are in Turkish, so W11 and CoPilot bcame my interpreter!!!

Hi, one of the daily user here. You can check the beta releases under Index of /iso/2.3/beta/ (2026-05-06 one currently). The team did a huge development step and implemented own desktop+panel composition. The desktop can run on Wayfire/Labwc WM, while supporting desktop layer and its own panel. Also you can login with English language option. Yes, you right about sub commands, actually they are easy enough (kur=install, sil=remove, gun=update) but always you can consult the MPS user interface from menu. So, you can experience these advancements on the beta iso, then enjoy.
