This item was proudly posted on the Garuda forum, and Larry Cafiero has named Garuda Temeraire as their Distro of the Week! As a dedicated Garuda Linux user, I’m in a position to authoritatively state that Mr. Cafiero does not over state the recent improvements to be had in the current state of Garuda. Since Garuda’s a rolling release distro, I view these so-called versioning names as identifiers for the installation/live ISO images. If anyone wants to check my distro of choice out for themselves, just head on over to the Garuda Downloads page.
Thanks for the heads up. In spite of warnings, I put it in a VM. Lost the mouse when I changed desktops. Amazing how much we judge Linux by the DE. I am not enamored with Arch and KDE, too many years on Debian with Mate.

You now i hade trouble to install Garuda before i tried again when the new ISO was released I tried mokka and dragonised and Cinnamon but Garuda dosent like me or my pc it wont install its a shame because i would love to try it .But its ok we cant have every thing that’s how it is . But i got 2 distros Soplos Linux based om Debian Testing and Bazzite for my games based on Fedora im happy with so its not a big deal i just wanted to tell you. Regards Mikael
it booted the Garuda Cinnamon in gnome boxes but the installer says the system is not booted in uefi mode but my pc is in uefi mode and i cant find how to change it in gnomeboxes
Modern rolling release distros are more stable than fixed release. They are like eternal LTS.
But yes, Garuda is Arch based, and Arch is not a modern rolling release distro. Garuda is probably way better than original Arch wnen it comes to stability. Derivatives dont necessarily inherit the instability of their parent … it depends more on the people managing it… eg Artix is way more stable tban Arch.

Its a bit weird i can install Garuda Cinnamon but i cant install Mokka or Dragonised, but at least now i can try one version of Garuda Linux.
I installed Garuda cinnamon on my hard drive but cant install the other versions and yes boxes should enable uefi. but i will try another vm which one is easy to understand and have uefi enabled
I use virt-manager. It defaults to legacy boot, but it can do efi boot.
Virt-manager uses the same libvirt libraries as Boxes, but it provides more settings the user can change.
I do understand that Virtualbox is quite good too, it is a matter of taste.

Yeah? Nah… Was unimpressed when Garuda was simlutaneously running different “wizards” in different terminal windows - doing similar things… it overall felt like a “too many cooks and not enough chefs” thing (or too few indians and not enough chiefs - I get my metaphors mixed up all the time)…
Yeah - nah… Ubuntu doesn’t do that… I prefer complete control, and to know what I’m getting…
Things may have changed - but - if I was to ever run an Arch based distro - it would be Arch itself (I’ve tried it as a VM in the past) or Manjaro…
Last time I tried Arch - it wasn’t “easy” but still a TRUCKLOAD easier than doing Slackware!

Some today feel this has been too diluted … there is a retro movement.
My mum was an actress - she could NEVER get voice work for the ABC because they said she sounded too Australian! Outrageous!
Never had Meccano - closest we got was Lego… Which I loved and still do…
I also bought Airfix kits - mostly WW2 stuff like fighers and bombers (had an Avro Lancaster) and box sets of soldiers, Aussies, Tommies, Japs and Krauts…
