Gentoo running xfce!!! I know a lot of users use xfce but I
can build 3 Gentoo Mate DE’s to one xfce. It is running well
but I really cannot see it is worth a fuss over.

It’s nice, but what’s your point? Gentoo comes with tons of DE’s doesn’t it?
Not really, not really a xfce fan, installed it to help a friend.

In your lower panel, you have a browser icon, and a firefox icon as well?
How did you get that?
Just drag the icon to the desktop and right click and add to launcher
