Sorry, but can’t help with Xorg-server (on LFS). I did have xorg before Wayland on my two Gentoo installs but when I read the LFS instructions for it they’re so different how Gentoo wiki explain it. For me Portage is a bless and it just doesn’t feel comfortable to go to the LFS way where you get the tar file and manually install everything (have done it with Ubuntu, Arch, Void and Gentoo) but it’s always a mess if the package manager is not involved. I do admire your willingness to go thru all of it! I’m just a lazy Gentoo user with binaries all over my system. Maybe I need to start playing with kernel again some day but not on my work laptop. It just needs to work!
