Yes Neville, but so far I haven’t had any crashes with Gentoo. Arch updates scares me more 
Same with me, Gentoo, Void and Solus all seem to update
without issues.
Never tried Arch. Arch has a user-driven repository… that may be less stable.
You have probably realised thst I dont use Timeshift.
It is too complicated when I multiboot about 6 different distros.
I did try Borg… same problem
I am using rsync for my data, and for system backup I image each disk with Clonezilla. That does all distros in one hit.
I dont use Cloud, just external hard drives.
