I think you should display this article to anyone not yet quite understanding how the Linux OS world works. Saves a lot of time explaining this, oneself.
I read that in the newsletter, and I can agree, to some extent. I would advise any new Linux user to go with the more prominent names, etc Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, OpenSuse for first time use. Get to know basic commands and maybe then experiment with other Distros.
This old Acer machine I am using now, will narrow the field down quite a bit, especially if it will not run 64bit Distros.
