Hi @pdecker and all, :waving_hand:

what a wonderful thought.

How nice of you to think of all the mothers.
If it weren´t for them none of us would be here to populate the forum.

And let us not forget all the dear mums that aren´t with us anymore.
A very special greeting to them as well, whereever they may be. :heart_exclamation:

All the best to all of you.

Many greetings from Rosika :slightly_smiling_face:

Shame you got the date wrong.

Depending which country you live in changes the date, but I don’t understand why. Especially as fathers day is international.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on various dates across the globe, with many countries following the tradition of the second Sunday in May, but others have their own unique celebrations. For example, Panama celebrates on December 8. Mexico celebrates on May 10, Thailand on August 12, and France on the last Sunday in May. Some countries, like Albania, Armenia, and many Balkan and Eastern European countries, also celebrate it on March 8

But great idea

@callpaul.eu :

Yes, the celebration date seems to vary widely.

Here in Germany, however, it´s today, and from my friends I know it´s clebrated in Australia and the U.S. today as well.

If in doubt you can always check calendar, I suppose.
Mine (German setup) lists it for today:

calendar | grep -i mother
Mai 11*	Mother's Day (2nd Sunday of May)

Cheers from Rosika :slightly_smiling_face:

A few years back, i got a call from my dad, he said you are in trouble, you forgot mothers day… I checked my diary, we had celebrated with her on the day, he had been listening to the radio where it was mothers day in another country, convinced my mother I had forgotten so dog house for me! Such is life.

Not every year. Mothers Day is defined as the second Sunday in May.
It is a moveable feast.

My mother, bless her star-touched head, proudly asserted that ‘every day is Mother’s Day, dammit’ and had a nice glass of wine to prove it. I never questioned my mother.

I thought mothers’ day was universal… and that father’s day varied more…

In Australia - it’s (mother’s day) the 2nd Sunday in May - I remember my missus had the hump with me once when my kids were little and I had to do the mother’s day thing for them - 'cause I went to give her brekky and a pressy on the FIRST SUNDAY of MAY! How dare I???

In Australia, fathers’ day is the first Sunday of September - but I’ve seen it vary widely across the planet and happens in different month throughout the the year…

I follow a lot of seppo groups on social media (i.e. often about metal or doom metal music) and it was also mothers day in the USA over the weekend…

Anyway - my mum’s 88 this year, and still kicking on - but 3,000 km away - so my brother who lives in the same town has to fulfill his role representing me and my sister in the UK…

Happy Ma’s day to all the mums out there!

Here was me thinking totally the reverse.

Its a plot by hallmark cards to keep the printers going, what with grand parents day, christmas, new year, easter. Bet next there is a no event day card, or a very happy un birthday as they said to alice
