Have you experienced a dewbow?

Choose a clear dewy night with moonlight preferably a full moon high in the sky. Go for a walk in open grassland without a torch. Be prepared to get your feet wet.
If you are lucky, you will see, as I did last night, a ring of reflected moonlight in the grass around your feet. It can even be multi-coloured like a rainbow.
I believe it is called a dewbow.

I tried hard to find a photo… the Wikipedia link above shows both a dewbow and a Heiligenschein ( a glow around the head of your shadow). Mine was not like that… it was a ring of light in the grass, around my feet… and it followed me as I walked… eerie. The world is even today, full of strange phenomena… you just have to go and look.

For a short time I was celebrating my newly acquired ‘halo’ , but then I was brought back to reality with the realization that it was around my feet, not my head.

In earlier times, such phenomena were regarded as having religious or mystical significance

The ‘halo’ which one often sees in Christian art as a circle of light around the head of the subject, is regarded as a sign of goodness emanating from a person. I am not sure how this symbol arose, but it is not related, as far as I can tell , to any natural phenomenon.

Linux, of course, has its own version of what is good, and a suitable symbol might be

We need somehow denote the goodness of Linux
