HDD Not in mnt folder

For whatever reason my WD_Black 5tb USB drive (ID-6) is not showing in my mnt folder with all the other HDDs including a WD Mybook. The only other drive that is not showing as well is the boot drive (ID-3, SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB)

All the drives show up when I access them and I have desktop links to all, even the WD_Black. All are set to mount on boot and do so every time.

This just looks a little weird to me.
Has anybody else seen this? Have I reached some kind of limiting thing or what?
This is my basic system report for my Dell XPS8900.

MAYBE.

Back to basics.
Been doing some cyber sluthing.
This hard drive is intended for game boxes like x-box, etc. It might be a format issue as I did no initialing/format when I hooked it up.
Maybe I should move all my data off and use gparted to re-initialize and reformat and see if that works.
Thoughts?

Yes, BACKUP your files BEFORE you format/partition the drive. I am not savvy enough to know if there is a limit to the number of hard drives Linux will support. I assume, if it shows up, it can be used by Linux.

Before reformatting everything, I’d like to see the output of

sudo blkid

and the content of

/etc/fstab

Here are the results your request:

fstab content

/etc/fstab: static file system information.

Use ‘blkid’ to print the universally unique identifier for a

device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices

that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).

Appears I have quite the mix of formats in use but how did “atari” get into the mix?
I’ve backed up the drive but have not reformated.
Formating brings up a whole new set of questions ext4 or ngfs for starter. I’ll be taking a look at the options later today even though I’m leaning toward ext4.

If I were you, I’d first create a fixed mount point for your “WD_Black” drive.

sudo mkdir /mnt/wdblack

make it accessible with:

sudo chmod -R 777 /mnt/wdblack

and then add the following line to etc/fstab:

UUID=ACF5-334D /mnt/wdblack exfat defaults,nofail 0 1

and then try to mount it with

sudo mount -a

This is the output of sudo mount -a
fuse: bad mount point `/mnt/usb-WD_Game_Drive_575855314535393848314456-0:0-part1’: No such file or directory

Looking things over it appears renaming the directory to ‘usb-WD_Game_Drive_575855314535393848314456-0:0-part1’ might solve this?
The directory contains the same relative information as the other drives listed.

THANK YOU!!!
Your post pointed me in the right direction to solve this.
Expanding on the output of your suggested command sudo mount -a;
I looked at all the other folders in /mnt and noticed they all contained the same relative info.
I couldn’t rename the directory but I could create a new one (I was in the /mnt folder as root) using the mnt info in the fstab file (basicly copied the same format as the other usb drives).
I noted that folder got populated by the same subfolders as the wdblack.
I removed the line I previously added to the fstab file as I noticed the mount point for the wdblack was already there. I also deleted the wdblack folder after I rebooted.
It works as it should now.
Again, Thank you so much.

So glad, I could help!

Have a lovely evening!
