My iPhone takes a lot of photos in .heic image format. I searched in Google and many suggestions are specially for Windows. That’s why I am asking in here.
just a quick search suggested gimp a couple of times (1 and 2) and krita once along with some other options.
The Nokia HEIC library won’t work for images created by iPhone. Managed to get this done in creating a virtual machine and view the images via Win 10 Extension suggested in this post. However, it needs more time for downloading and uploading.
I can’t try myself because I don’t have any HEIC image. But according to my reading, XnViewMP supports HEIC.

i was thinking the same thing last night. it would be easier to try out some of my own suggestions if i had access to an heic image myself
