You can pay a bit extra for a Fire with no advertisements. Doesn’t use google at all. Plenty of apps, but not necessarily what’s on google play. Works for banking and AI (I use Lumo quite a lot on mine). Tracking steps is difficult with a bulky tablet; that’s what phones are for.

There are good deals on the internet. Shops have too much markup in our area. Dont waste money on warranties, treat it like a throwaway.

It goes against my grain, but it is the way of the world. we will probably get to throwaway AI centres soon.
Au has thrown away a heap of coal fired powerstations, several car manufacturing plants, and a steelworks.

What happens here is they are privately owned and go into receivership. The government bails them out a couple of times, then decides no more, and lets them close.

In the uk there government at the time not mentioning any name (thatcher) sold the silver
I started working in a laboratory and did a degree in métallurgie but the writing was on the wall of Steel site closures so I moved on thankfully with my qualification helping into sales then computing so happy it happened when it did

I spent a good hour playing around with cowsay last night. An ungodly amount of time for something so silly. 
I remembered there being being different animal ASCII files but forgot how it worked. Gemini (man pages on steroids, basically) helped me with that.
