I think that quote… or something very similar … originated from Einstein
It is true …time and space are what separate events
He also said that time is an illusion

So it does not separate things after all ?
I dont think anyone understands time, but it is one of the more interesting aspects of our world..

Likely … Wheeler was a Physicist too , and in the same generation .
It may be difficult to determine who said it first … and it does not matter.
The important thing is the insight it gives into the nature of time.
Time separates, and also orders events.

But can events that happens in “future time” be circumvented or is everything pre-ordained?

Everything is not pre-ordained … because we have freedom .
It is hard to envisage , but it is possible for someone/something who is outside of time and space, to see everything … ie past, present, and future …and for us who are trapped inside of time and space to only be able to see present.
I know there are religious points of view on this but I am not going there in this forum.

That is not what I meant!! Is the existence of human’s, in time, really that important, I mean, the dinosaurs existed for thousands of years!! Will human’s? Or will we as a species be able to change future time and have no need in greed or war and co-exist as one species!! Guess I have been watching the “Earth Without People” series to much on Prime!!

We are in some ways unique … compared to all other animals. … but does that make us important?
I cant answer that without getting into religion.
It is commonly held that each and every human life is important.
Humans, as a species, are quite vulnerable to extinction. We depend on a delicated balance of climate factors. A couple of degrees shift in temperature, especially in the cold direction , could eliminate the species. The next ice-age is overdue.

Getting it to work on both Android in TermUX and Ubuntu Linux took some work - and it looks a bit clumsy… but it works… and it works on MacOS too… But I’ll mostly be using that on TermUX… BTW - that file it decrypts (to the terminal - not out to another file) is also password encrypted (age prompts for the password)… Probably won’t - but I guess I should try and get it to also work on FreeBSD (TrueNAS) - wouldn’t use it there - but - just for shits’n’giggles…

Well, the hdd failed that had Windows 10 (a new reinstall) and Kubuntu, now used an old 500 gb sdd that had shadowfetch, and forgot what else, but since it’s been put in an ancient Lenovo M58 SFF, I put Artix on that, not bad so far. MX linux on my Sony TV PC got in a restart to update stuck cycle, and it took over grub, and that will not allow proper loading of the other distros, namely Bosniana GNU linux, Void, and EZArcher. I had reinstalled Kubuntu, which alway amazingly fixes grub, but one has to change hdd boot order.
The main person who sees a nerdiness wasting of time is my wife, who awaits her fave YouTube casts, but all day I spent trying to fix the PC. So, sincerely yours, wasting away, to borrow a line from When I’m 64.

Sounds like you need to spend a few dollars and buy your wife a Chromebook for watching YouTube. Wifely harmony is worth any investment.

Recently purchased a new vehicle. Not cheap, but worth it.
Unfortunately, it’s been in the shop for over a week. That doesn’t make for a happy wife. Sigh.

I bought mine a tablet but it now needs replacing after 5 years too slow, plays games and social media on it plus youtube and AI stuff

Amazon Fire tablets are quite inexpensive and YouTube works well on them. About $80 right now, way cheaper and just as good as an iPad.

Dont they have lots of adverts ?
Do they have the same applications as on google play ?
I ask because thinking of replacing my wife’s android tablet but she uses it for the bank and several AI applications plus something which tracks her steps each day
