How to read a sigmaplot for windows file

A friend of mine is trying to recover information from a .spw file.
Does anyine know how to,do this, either in Linux or on Win?

Never heard of a .spw fiel, you sure it is not a .psw file?

From my friends email…
“can no longer open the data file or slide files for Fig 16 – they are in .wk4 (Lotus 123) and .spw (Sigmaplot for Windows) formats”

The .wk4 is easy.
, there is an online converter.
but .spw has me beat.
It is old (Win/Dos) stuff from the 1990s
Sigmaplot is still around, but it is nonfree and they dont use that format today.

Thanks
Neville

Sometime during the 90s was when Excel started to overtake Lotus 123. It had to be compatible or import Lotus files. Maybe some version of Excel could use it?

The solution was to drag an old windows laptop out from under the bed and fire it up.
It had a running version of Sigmaplot.
