I need to gain access to my old accounting data but I do not remember the password and Quickbooks password recovery does not work. They claim it is a known problem but… whatever. Suggestion for stripping my password from a file? Recovery software? … ah, and as I am not on Windows and just need my file data, it can be linux based. … or windows too if that is what we have available.
Do you have sudo permission?
If yes login into linux.
Type. sudo passwd
Where username is the username you want to change the password for.
This takes effect immediately.
