I have a problem with ROXterm

Here’s the following: I’ve searched for the best application to control temperature and fan manager.
When following the instructions to install it, i wrote “sudo apt install corectrl”,then roxterm asks me “password to luis”. I just sit there and ask my myself ‘what password?’.
The reason i’m asking is because i’m in an urgent need to install this programm or else my laptop will simply shutdown. Any thoughts?

It wants your user password… the one you login with as user luis
Sudo always asks for a password. … That is to be sure it is really you sitting at the terminal doing a sudo. … security like this is needed where people may walk away from their terminal without logging out… it is not really needed on a home computer
but you cant disable it.

@Luis_Cardoso :

Adding to @nevj ´s perfect explanation:

When setting up/installing your system surely you were asked to provide a password for user Luis, right?

That´s the one needed.

Hope it helps.

Indeed.A password was asked but i didn’t think it would interfere with Terminal.
For the record, i have two laptops, being the most recent that a bought(Lenovo Ideapad 3 15 ADA)running a distro(Mint 21«Vanessa»).On that Terminal it never ask me for a password, while AntiX’s Roxterm did.
.What can i say?Linux is still new to me.Anyway, i just wanna thank you for your help.Thanks :smiling_face:

Distros will vary. Some will ask for a sudo password once, then not again in the same session.
