Where was I unclear? To be fair none of the apps in Ubuntu worked,so testing the ones from the Kubuntu app store was in itself unlikely to work,but worth a shot.I doubted it would be something so simple if 1 of the board members at my local Linux Group couldn’t get it to work…

I don’t see how that’s unclear,but then & again I have the experience of going through the trial & error with bits that may seem obvious to me…I did the logical thing of going into the settings & trying to set it up where the phone would show up but would not connect in the " Edit your Network Connections" menu
Reading every post of this thread it was never really clear to me what your sub-issues were. I understood you want your phone to be connected but I didn’t understand what you stumbled upon.
