I successfully visited forums.linuxmint.com earlier today. On my next visit, I get a notice from securi.net that my IP has been blocked, so now I obviously can’t log into the forum on any of my devices. I have to open a ticket through Securi, and the sign up link takes me to their page to buy website security. I was stupid enough to put in my email and pass for the forum before even checking if Securi is legit. A quick look online makes me think they’re a crappy company, but probably not malicious.
Anyone else having problems with the Linux Mint forum?
I went to the Mint forum. No probkems. No securi.net.
Not sure what you should do about this. ?
Maybe you could advise the Mint forum that there may be someone interfering with access to their site
After the power issue in spain and portugal on monday last I too had issues with linux mint mainly the repositories and update sections. Several attempts and different computers. But the following day everything was fine.
I wonder if there was an issue with a dns on route ?
What was strange about it, I had just done an installation of lmde so it had been communicating with a mint server up to that point.
No problems with any other sites I was using. I tend to connect to a local server for the iso but updates come from central mint server (no idea where that is) and not a local one.
I should add that since I’ve been able to access their forum again, I’ve discovered that Sucuri (the correct spelling for my OP which I can’t edit) is a legitimate website security company used by the site, and that others have had this issue semi-frequently over the years. Sorry for the false alarm.
