Well now I know whyā¦ I had to do a kernel upgrade to get it, and you cant do a kernel upgrade with aptā¦ have to use the MX tool, as far as I can see.

Apparently not. There is a time limit. By the time I found out how to do it the time limit was exceeded.
The two people in my local neighbourhood I spoke to that use those touch screen devices firmly stated that it is not NOT possible to to be so clumsy so as to post an emoji by accident.
So we have clumsy

I for one understand your frustration and feelings. I too have felt frustrated, insulted, and even lightly harass in the past on this forum.
I actually got so upset that I left and said to myself I was never coming back. Well, as you see, I am back after a long absence. This forum has had a turn over of people posting here and the forum is much better now.
I never got an apologize. You did. I believe @nevj is sincere. Except for this āpoopā which can never happen again (thanks to Neville) and was by accident, I never seen a negative comment by him.
If you choose to leave, then that your choice. From reading a lot off your postings, I can tell you have a lot to offer and will be missed. If you happen to read this, I hope you reconsider leaving.

IĀ“ve known Neville for quite some time now and I consider him to be a very knowledgeable, polite and helpful person.
Neither have I.
All that discussion regarding the p-word must be a result from a mixture of misunderstanding and accidentally hitting the wrong spot on a touch screen, I guess.
My sentiments as well. 
We all need @artytux and @nevj here in the forum.

I like it, but I should point out the following restrictions
- it will only work in a Debian based system , because it depends on the presence of the file /var/log/dpkg.log. Only Debian systems use
dpkg dpkg.logwill only be present in a Debian based system if the system logging daemon (rsyslog) is running . Some Debian based systems only use systemd logging and do not run syslogd.
