Hi all, recently upgraded from lubuntu 18.04 to 20.04. All is good with system except when trying to shut off Laptop from either Shutdown Menu or via terminal. When using either method, lubuntu exits to blank screen, then laptop stays on indefinately, After about a half hour, I shut down laptop by holding power-key down until light went out. Any help will be appreciated.

It is a systemd problem.
My old Toshiba laptop with Debian does it too, but with a non-systemd os like Void it does not do it.
Try changing the settings to stop it doing suspend or hibernate.
Drastic solution is to find a better os without systemd.
