I would be interested to know if anyone who uses this site is affacted.
I think system with 2 disks, Linux on one and Win on the other, booted independently , would not be affected.

This list of malware that can infect a Linux system now includes Windows 11

That is enormously heavy. I think mine is 3 or 4lb. What do you use it for?
I dont think I could swing anything that heavy.

It is a left over from my days spent as a millwright, working on the road, you know, if it doesn’t fit, get a bigger hammer, and it truly lived up to the name!!!
It is used, mostly, for tamping fill dirt back in a hole, like when pulling out fence post!!!

Got one also, I just call it my shop hammer!!!

Is that a left or right handed hammer ?

Yes interesting to know about dual boot users or anyone with linux running inside windows if effected

At least one incidence I know already.

This girl was fighting with an Ubuntu related problem since few days, now she was hit by that problem too.
What I said to her is that using ONLY Debian would cause zero problems for her.

It is like a Windows/Linux dual-boot, it can go either way!!! Just make sure
no one is in the way, when you start the swing!!!

So you are a swinger !

Wish I could still swing!!!

Let’s just say that my Dell Inspiron 530, running Gentoo/XP, on separate drives, is running quite well, if I do not do something
“stupid” and try to run “LFS” again!!!

I use the cap end of a crowbar for ramming postholes.
Largest hammer I ever saw was 10lb.

Hi Paul

Are you combining 2 threads into 1 ?

I think we should but i dont know how or dont have that power on the site.

Needs a super wizzard

No prob, leave it to the powers that be.

I just came accross this article (Oh, no! Windows Security Update Breaks Dual-Boot Linux Systems) today and thought that I should share my experience on it and I registered here. I was an user of Windows OS for a very long time, specifically from Windows 3.1. I have seen the evolve of Windows from a magnificent OS to a profit oriented privacy invasive OS and with that my experience has changed from ‘awesome’ to ‘very annoyed’. So, I started looking for alternative and after some research I have started using Fedora to ditch Windows for good. But, I am very new to Fedora a.k.a Linux, so I was very cautious about using two OS for the time being and in the process, I learned that Windows never behave gentlemanly when it comes to dual boot with Linux and this is not new. It always messed up GRUB when it gets updated, maybe to scare off new users like me from using Linux and eventually ditching Windows. In my learning process (I am still learning), I stumbled upon a video on YouTube where the content creator adviced not to do dual boot Linux and Windows instead using TWO SEPARATE DRIVES FOR TWO OS and when installing Linux he asked to disconnect all other NTFS drives otherwise Windows will mess up those too. So I did. Two dedicated drives for two OS and using F12 key ( this function key for boot menu may vary in different machines) to switch between two OS. In my opinion, this is the safest choice.

Hi @Skywalker71 ,
That is indeed the best arrangement. It is like having 2 separate computers.
