Mouse right-click inoperative on Kubuntu 22.10

Well, this file should be in /your user name/.config/
folder, which is a hidden folder.

You have a good point there…
I noticed that Neville is still working on the issue so I thought you want to get it work.

And i thought y’all just wanted the satisfaction to know why it wasn’t working under X11.

Btw, did check under “hidden files” in X11 and the config setup was just as you posted.
Nothing was to be changed there.

So, back to Plasma Wayland we go!

Thank you!

I guess, Neville does. He still loves to learn and he is using KDE. Me? No. I don’t care about KDE. I love and use Xfce.

Enjoy it!

Mint XFCE would be my choice (for the laptop i have).

Always appreciate knowing about other distro versions.
LITE should be out of beta soon.
And MX… maybe a year-end surprise?

That is what I have. Also like Linux Lite, after getting rid of Windows-ish look and feel. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
After all, they are both Ubuntus…

I am just being stubborn. If it works in my KDE with X11, why not in @danielson 's ?

~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

Use the command line
cd -/.config
then
more plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

I know you are. To understand Linux (or any OS) you have to be. It’s also helpful to others.

I’m glad to hear that! For me it is the best!

Thanks for the tip.

Maybe it’s just my computer…!

For example:
Have had an outstanding issue with sound momentarily missing while watching videos on Ytube.
Happens at various intervals.
Usually after 2 or 5 min.
Some desktops have the problem, others not.
Why?
Don’t know.
But try posting about it on a forum!
Especially when you’re the only “cook” to have that issue…

(p.s. not a problem with Kubuntu, KDE Neon and the Mint editions).

I have one of those issues too. I have 4 distros on my machine, and they all do it. The window system just freezes at arbitrary times and I have to reboot. I suspect nvidia card, but cant prove it.

It never does it if there is no window system, like rescue mode or an install Cd.

I think we will give up on your KDE/X11 issue.

Regards
Neville

@artytux @nevj @danielson
You might have gotten something here.
"Start konsole
kquitapp plasma-desktop
Edit ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc
Find the line (should only be one line since you’re only using one desktop) plugin=plaindesktop
Change it to plugin=desktop, and save
start plasma again with plasma-desktop &

And see if you can use the cahsew to access the settings you require."
No idea what “cahsew” is, but Kde users should.

Hello @shamu

No idea what “cahsew” is, but Kde users should.

I have not used that option maybe once to see what it is, when your desktop is in Folder Layout instead of Desktop Layout and that is where the Cashew is in top right of Primary Screen, the Cashew is an access to other commands and toolbox that IF I’m remembering correctly it’s very similar to right mouse click.
Only problem I can see with that is to access
Configure Desktop and Wallpaper > Layout > > Choose one of two Desktop or Folder is done with right mouse.
Second problem in this case is that

So access is denied UNLESS
Someone knows of a cheat (terminal) to get in there another way

mm

If anyone wants to, and has the time to do this is a start up to @danielson mouse problem

Hi @artytux, good info for some KDE users.
I guess, danielson is happy with Wayland and he is right, why fix it if it works for him.
I have tried KDE years ago, once or twice, never liked it, way too complex for me, my Xfce works just fine and it’s very simple, yet it does everything I need. I like things simple…
Take care!

Consoling words for me, thank you!

Btw, took latest Zorin out for a spin yesterday.
No right-click issues there.
Sound coming out of headset was incredible! :hugs:
But… just can’t stand Gnome default, so removed it.
Not ready to go pro for XFCE option.

You can remove Gnome and install Xfce quite easily in most distros, as long as Xfce is available in the repository.

Thank you! Will investigate that.
