Did get a chance to show my new wallpaper before I deleted MX25 b/c of the panic with Mint. Thought I would share this about wallpaper tho.
Using MX tools, I downloaded 2 previous MX releases of wallpaper. I went to reload the new wallpaper and they were not there. For some reason MX did not look in /media/easyt/rootMX23/usr/share/backgrounds for the new wallpaper but only in the directory Xfce located there.
Update
I think I am going to wait a couple months before trying to install MX25 again.
Just a question
When you installed MX25, did you allow it to install grub?
If so, it would have become the grub controller… if you then deleted MX25 you may have deleted the grub controlller… that may explain some of the issues in your ‘panic’ post.
Yes, I did. Afterwards, I remember there was a box during the install of MX25 that I could have uncheck that would have stopped MX from installing grub.
But b/c MX25 did install grub after the install, I booted Mint and install grub again so that Mint controlled grub.
Yeah, that is my sort of background.
I think you can safely put MX25 back when you feel like it. Mine is going OK …no further issues, just a strange grub message.
I camped in a snow cave near Trillium Lake, as in the photo. It’s even more beautiful at dawn or sunset–the alpenglow would knock your socks off. Lord Howe Island says heat, mold, and mosquitos to me.
It is temperate… like coastal NSW.
In summer you can add sandflies, spiders and ticks, but it has no snakes. The mainland has snakes too . Winter is the best time of year… mild days and cool nights.
Alpenglow is the lovely rose and gold color bestowed on snowy mountains by a setting sun. A snow cave is a hollow made in a pile of packed snow large enough to sleep in. We are located in the foothills of that mountain near the sea in my post in the Mountains of Mourne topic. Almost too close to enjoy view of the mountain … it sort of hangs over us like a guardian angel.
I hope you like it (I created the background, using the Garuda Dragon wallpaper, but changing it to shades of grey, and adjusting the brightness setting in KolourPaint, then adding the white on black Garuda ‘G’ icon in the lower-right! And most all the icons use custom images I created too!)
