I changed your trust level from 1 to 2.
Can you try again please?
If that does not work we will have to contact admin
Email is not allowed is what i get
@sourav ,
Would you mind helping @cat-man to change his email address on the forum.
He does not seem to be able to do it himself.
I tried lifting his trust level … that did not help.
Not sure if
- he is not authorised to change it
- it is not accepting his new proton mail address
Thanks
Neville
Those .efi files have to be present on the EFI partition. The installer should put them there.
Did you mount the EFI partition to /boot/efi when you installed?
If not , that may be why grub2 cant find things
Garuda is unusual.
You need to get hold of the Garuda install instructions and follow them line by line. Attention to detail will get you there.
Is the answer to set up a new account using new address then merge old address to new one then if that is fine kill the old one ?
Never tried…
No i did not mount anything. I just tried to boot from it but it could not find anything. it dosent matter now, in my world an installer should find the drives/drive like most distros do and if it gets to complicated i wait with it untill i know more about how linux works, and when im not sure what im doing its very easy to make misstakes and the system gets unstable. and thats why i like Fedora so much its very stable and i have not yet had any issues what so ever.and im very happy with it
Depends. I think the system may be rejecting his new email address … cant tell from his brief description. If that is so a new account will not help.
@cat-man … can you tell us … is it saying you dont have authority, or is it saying the new email address is faulty?
We need a diagnosis before we can look for a cure.
i try again and take a picture of it
did you get my message
Yes, thanks
I cant interpret the stupid error message.
It might mean
- you are not allowed to change email
- the email address is invalid
We have to ask @sourav for help.
i have sent him a message with the picture now
I assume, this email is locked as in use by the “deleted” account.
Yes, that may be it. Brilliant thought.
In that case we need to merge the 2 accounts
Help @sourav … can you fix this?
Already fixed and notified a few hours ago.
Hey, thanks for sharing your Linux journey—it’s awesome to see you diving in despite the hurdles! Starting with Ubuntu 24, struggling a bit, then finding your groove with Mint Cinnamon (super Windows-like and beginner-friendly) makes total sense.
Thank you Sourav.
It is nice to have some backup when we get stuck

Neville

This might be a dumb question how do i check the checksum of distros i have downloaded, i think its good to know if the iso is alright or corrupt .
