My Play Machine

Built this machine with the spare parts I have laying around!!! Not a barn-burner but it runs fairly well, with just 8GB of ram.

It is running a VM… the motheboard must be capable.
Notice you have Devuan… any impressions? … which init system did you use?

@nevj
It is an old Intel DP43BF, running an Intel Pentium Dual Core CPU, rock solid, but is maxed out with 8GB Crucial ram!!! Runs XP really well, on a separate drive.

SysVinit!!! Runs like Debian, as for as I can tell!!! First impression, what is the Refractor Install? Is there a CLI install for Devuan. Any advice on how I should build Devuan?

It is a third party installer used by Devuan

Refracta is also an OS, Devuan based

There is no other installer for Devuan, but Refracta will be graphic if you start it from the live system by clicking the icon.

sysVinit is best choice. You can add OpenRC on top of it, if you want the commands you use in Gentoo.
Nothing special about setting up Devuan. Apart from the init system it is same as Debian. I always use Xfce but you can get any DE.
The SLiM login manager is a bit unusual.
