These are starting to come on the market
There are issues with toxic materials and instability, but maybe these have been overcome.
I wonder if they could power a laptop indoors?

Depends on cost, availability, lifespan, recycle and take up rate.
Somewhere i have a wind up radio and light… not very good.
In the same place a solar light (torch) which never gave enough charge to light for any length of time or give enough brightness
Imagine you are trying to work and it cuts out
But something will come hopefully in our lifetime, perpetual motion has been talked about for so long

Humans evolved in a world where the sun set daily and everything stopped.
We keep inventing ways to escape from that diurnal rhythm.
Perhaps we should give up and go back to it.
