I sent an email a week or two ago via the contact form on the main site (WordPress) regarding my domain (dantheman.me) expiring and not being able to login here because I no longer have access to the domain based email account. I didn’t get a response but I likely triggered a spam filter with a couple of mailto: links sprinkled into the contact form.
Long story short, I finally found a browser still logged into my ItsFoss.community account and was able to change the email associated with this account. I also setup a passkey so this shouldn’t be a problem in the future. I had to use Gmail’s plus addressing for the email associated with this account. It seems I inadvertently created a new account with my ‘naked’ (non-plus) Gmail address. Is there any way we can delete that account and associate this account with the ‘naked’ Gmail address?
To be clear, the email I want associated with this account (DanTheManDRH) is the Gmail currently attached to this account just without the +itsfoss in the address.
I did see your message. Perhaps it was late at night and I thought of getting it done the next day. Since the mail was opened, it got buried in the pile of the new unread messages. Sorry about that.
I am glad that you were able to manage to log in to the forum and made some changes as well.
Now, about your account, I see only one account for you here and that is a gmail account with +itsfoss in it.
On the It’s FOSS website, I see two members account for you. One is a recent, gmail account without +itsfoss in it. And the other is the older account with the custom domain.
What would you like me to do? Remove your newly created member account with gmail and update your older account replacing the custom email with the gmail with +itsfoss in it?
Sorry for my delay in reply. What does logging into the Ghost side let me do - comment on posts? If so just leave the new account without the +itsfoss there. I’ll log into that if needed.
