I cant believe a terminal emulator would need GPU acceleration.
It seems to be more for developers wanting to build a terminal into their app.
Wooh
Well, so far I didn’t neither read nor watch the respective information.
Interesting it requires GPU
Believe it or not - many of them do use GPU acceleration where available - dunno how many explicitly require it - but - I’d guess even Intel GPU would be capable enough…
I think MacOS terminal (iTerm) and 3rd party terminal iTerm2 both use GPU acceleration, I was using Tabby for a while (on Mac, Linux and Windows) and it also uses some GPU acceleration where available…
I mostly just use the default terminal in my Linux O/S, probably gnome terminal - no idea if that takes advantage of GPU acceleration…
Note : I never use youtube to learn about Linux stuff - I prefer static text pages to read rather than listen to someone talk - often they have very strong non-Anglo accents that I have trouble understanding too…
Me too. I have a hearing problem and an attantion span problem that makes videos difficult. I used to go to sleep in lectures and seminars. Much rather read it.
I thought the whole display used GPU acceleration, not individual windows?
Am I wrong?
What level does the GPU operate at?
